Burton Constable Holiday Park & Arboretum is a 5-Star rated luxury holiday park, with privately-owned caravans and lodges, holiday rentals, glamping pods and over 100 camping and touring pitches. Situated in the gorgeous landscape of Burton Constable Hall, we are proud to hold and retain Visit England 5-Star and AA 5-Pennant ratings, recognising the unique style, quality and range of our holiday services.

In addition to the Lakeside Bar, our main site of “on-park spend” is our Woodland Store. This is a shop and catering centre serving and assisting customers who may be holiday home owners, holidaymakers or general public visitors.

Having refurbished the shop last year, and bringing the catering equipment up to standard, we are looking for a manager to take on the shop and run it as a profitable business arm.

There are two sides to the business: a convenience store, and a catering facility providing hot and cold food to customers. We have a mobile catering unit which we can set up next to the bar in high season. The catering offering is not complex – mostly simple lunch items (sandwiches, steak bakes etc.) and comfort food in the evening (pizzas, burgers, chips etc.). We have also offered cooked breakfasts at the weekend.

Whilst having a shop provides a service to customers, and the should be a profitable venture in its own right. We need an entrepreneurially-minded person (or couple) to come and make the Woodland Store their own. The ideal applicant should have: experience in retail or hospitality; a Level 3 Food Hygiene certificate; strong stock management; the ability to deliver a top customer experience; an eye for quality and presentation.

We are flexible in our approach to structuring the position. The remuneration for this job would be in the form of a regular salary/wage; there is also the potential for a bonus based on the departments’ profit across the whole season.

The season runs April to November; we are ideally looking to employ someone for eight or nine months, with the bonus making up for the three or four months of holiday over the winter months.

This would ideally suit someone whom several months off would be appealing! As a holiday business, you will be expected to work weekends, bank holidays and school holidays throughout the year.
