Whitemead Caravan Park is a medium sized, family run site set amongst five acres of picturesque countryside in the small village of Wool in Dorset, just a few miles from the World Heritage Jurassic Coast. We have excellent transport links to Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, Weymouth, Swanage, Corfe Castle, Studland, Poole, Bournemouth and more. We accommodate caravans, motorhomes and tents with some seasonal pitches.
We are looking for an Assistant Warden Couple to work with our existing team and aid in running our park during our open season from 14th March 2026 to 31st October 2026.
As Assistant Wardens, the couple don’t need to have previous experience but should be able to carry out all duties required, as the job can be demanding at times. A happy, can-do attitude, good people skills and a friendly, approachable demeanour are essential as providing excellent customer service is our main priority.
One member of the couple must have strong administration and computer skills, especially Excel, as their role would be based in the office / reception / shop, along with cleaning duties. Main duties would include taking bookings via email / telephone / booking system, managing payments, serving customers in the shop, dealing with daily arrivals / departures, giving customers local information and general office duties. Cleaning duties would include the shower / toilet and washing up facilities, as well as cleaning in the shop / reception / games room.
The other member of the couple must have basic DIY and general maintenance skills and must be able to work as part of a team to ensure the daily duties are carried out. Some aspects of the role are: greeting customers on arrival to the site and showing them to their pitches; providing general park information; towing of caravans with small tractor from storage to pitch, and on arrival; general gardening, including grass cutting, weeding and hedge trimming; general tidying and refuse management; cleaning of shower / toilet / washing up facilities; carrying out safety checks on the park; regular park patrols and security. Other duties would include resetting electric trips, gas delivery, daily site checks and necessary paperwork.
The successful applicants would be required to start on 14th March 2026. The position would be over 4 days per week with minimum combined hours of 60 to 70 hours per week, with a potential increase in days / hours during high season. The position would require working weekends / bank holidays and some evenings on call. Further discussion regarding hours/days at interview stage.
A wardens’ touring pitch with electric hook up is included as part of the job. Applicants must have a touring caravan or motorhome to be pitched on site for the duration of their employment.
